About The Author

Ambassador Dennis J. Ignatius is a 36 year veteran of the Malaysian Foreign Service. He served in London, Beijing and Washington, D.C. before being appointed as Malaysia's ambassador to Chile in 1992, and subsequently to Argentina in 1996. While in Latin America, he was also concurrently accredited as ambassador to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay. From 2001 to 2008, he was Malaysia's High Commissioner to Canada. Upon graduation from the University of Malaya he served as Cross-Cultural Coordinator, U.S. Peace Corps Malaysia Office before joining the Malaysian Foreign Service in 1972. Dennis had a dramatic encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ on Embassy Row in Washington D.C. in 1986 that radically altered his life. Since then, he has preached and ministered at churches and conferences, and testified about his faith in Jesus to political and business leaders in Latin America, the United States, Canada, Europe, Malaysia and Singapore. He retired from the Foreign Service in June 2008 and is now an itinerant minister and motivational speaker. His passion is to encourage believers to ardently pursue God, fulfill their high calling as ambassadors for Christ and live life to the fullest. His twice weekly email devotional, Fuel For The Fire, has an international circulation. Dennis is also an international affairs columnist for a Malaysian newspaper as well as Diplomatic Advisor to First Step Forum, a Helsinki-based group of professionals, business leaders and politicians committed to helping persecuted minorities by building bridges and promoting dialogue with national governments. In recent years, he has partnered with a major Canadian ministry to reach Canada's Arctic region with the Gospel. Dennis and his wife, Cherry, divide their time between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Ottawa, Canada.
